Join W&M alumni, parents, family and friends for a private tour of Yorktown Battlefield with Charles Bowery ’92, executive director, U.S. Army Center of Military History and president, Association of 1775, W&M’s government, military and veteran alumni group. See where American independence was won on October 19, 1781 when British forces under Lord Charles Cornwallis surrendered to the combined American and French armies led by General George Washington.
Meet at the Yorktown Visitor Center by 9:30 a.m. to board a charter bus for a drive to battlefield. Please wear comfortable walking shoes for this exclusive guided walking tour.
Tickets: $10 includes transportation to and from, and tour of battlefields. Please note September 28 is National Public Lands Day and all National Parks, including Yorktown Battlefield are entrance-fee free. We encourage you to stay after the tour to experience the museum exhibits at Yorktown Visitor Center.
